About Sloane
I am a mathematics tutor with over 5 years of experience and an MPhil in Mathematics. I take a holistic approach to teaching, focusing not just on formulas and problem-solving, but also on reducing math anxiety and building genuine confidence in learners of all ages. I believe every student can succeed in mathematics with the right guidance and support. My teaching style is personalized. I adjust the pace to match each student’s needs, ensuring no one feels rushed or left behind. I use growth mindset techniques to help students see challenges as opportunities, not obstacles. Positive reinforcement is central to my approach, celebrating small wins to build motivation and self-belief. I have worked extensively with students who have struggled with math in the past or feel overwhelmed by it. Together, we tackle difficult concepts step by step, turning frustration into understanding. I make learning interactive, engaging, and even enjoyable, showing that math can be logical, creative, and fun. My goal is to create a supportive environment where mistakes are seen as learning moments, not failures. I strive to help students develop independence, resilience, and a lasting appreciation for mathematics. With patience and encouragement, I help them transform their relationship with math and discover their innate ability to succeed.

My teaching approach in mathematics is nurturing, personalized, and designed to make learning both meaningful and fun. I focus on core topics like algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics, while also exploring logic puzzles, game theory, and recreational mathematics. I love showing how mathematical concepts apply to everyday life, turning abstract ideas into practical understanding. Every session is tailored to the student’s pace and interests. I encourage playful exploration, where curiosity leads the way. Students are invited to solve problems, think creatively, and discover patterns on their own. I guide them gently, celebrating small successes and building confidence with each step. I also work closely with parents, providing support and strategies to help students excel at school and exams. Assignments, exam preparation, and challenging problems become opportunities for growth rather than stress. I create a positive, encouraging environment where mistakes are learning moments. Together, we explore the joy and beauty of mathematics. I aim to foster a lasting appreciation for math, turning each session into a fun adventure. Students leave motivated, confident, and ready to tackle new challenges with enthusiasm.
