About Marcus
I'm here not just to teach, but to connect with students beyond the pages of textbooks -- I believe 'coaching' is a more accurate term to portray it. Understanding that some days are longer and tougher than others, I frequently find myself adapting the lessons to fit how each student is feeling, making learning stress-free and engaging. My aim is to light up the path to not only good grades but also to help students discover their passions and future directions. Drawing inspiration from Constructivist pedagogy, I conduct Math and Physics lessons for GCSE and A-level students that are enriched with real-world examples. This method not only demystifies complex theories, but also captivates students' curiosity, linking their learning to everyday phenomena. The result is a deeper, practical understanding that not only fosters a genuine interest in the subject but also leads to significant improvements in academic grades, proving its effectiveness and appeal.
My lessons are usually 60 to 90 minutes long, giving us enough time to cover the topics well. I've got an Engineering background and have worked in the field. This experience comes in handy when I'm teaching. I've been tutoring one-on-one for over 8 years, so I aim to always make these subjects relevant and show how they're applied outside the classroom, making them easier to understand.
