About Rowena

*TRUTH: I became a tutor because traditional teaching failed me too**
I spent years thinking I was "bad at math and Science " until one teacher showed me that the problem wasn't my brain - it was the method.

Now I help students who feel exactly like I did:
• Confused by textbook explanations that make no sense
• Frustrated by teachers who go too fast
• Convinced they're "just not a math person"

**My approach:** Find what clicks for YOU, not what works for everyone else.

**My promise:** If you're willing to try, I'm willing to find 10 different ways to explain it until one makes sense.

Ready to prove to yourself that you're smarter than you think?

MY TEACHING METHODOLOGY - WHY IT WORKS
THE "BRAIN-FIRST" APPROACH

I don't teach subjects - I teach YOUR brain how to understand them. Every student learns differently, so I adapt my method to how YOU naturally think, not force you into a one-size-fits-all system.
TYPICAL LESSON STRUCTURE (60 minutes)

Confusion Audit (10 mins) - You explain what you think you know. I identify exactly where the gaps are.

Connection Bridge (15 mins) - I connect new concepts to things you already understand perfectly.

️ Active Discovery (25 mins) - YOU solve problems while I guide with strategic questions. No spoon-feeding answers.

Confidence Check (10 mins) - You teach the concept back to me. If you can teach it, you own it.
WHAT MAKES ME DIFFERENT
Other Tutors:

Show you how to solve problems
Give formulas to memorize
Rush through material

My Method:

Teach you to THINK like a mathematician/scientist
Help you understand WHY, not just HOW
Build problem-solving intuition that lasts

PERSONALIZED TO YOUR LEARNING STYLE

Visual: Color-coded breakdowns, graphs, diagrams
Hands-on: Physical activities, real experiments
Auditory: Discussion-based, verbal patterns
Analytical: Step-by-step logic, pattern recognition

SMART HOMEWORK PHILOSOPHY

Quality over quantity. Every problem has a purpose:

Diagnostic problems to identify gaps
Confidence builders for momentum
Real-world applications to show relevance

No busy work. Ever.
PROGRESS TRACKING

Weekly check-ins on confidence and understanding
Visual progress dashboards
Regular parent updates with actionable insights
Celebration of ALL improvements

MY PROMISES TO YOU

No moving on until you truly understand No judgment for any question Your pace, not a predetermined schedule Real understanding, not just test memorization Leave every session feeling more confident
THE BOTTOM LINE

My goal isn't just better grades (though that happens naturally). It's transforming you from "I can't do this" to "I can figure this out."

First lesson: We discover how YOUR brain learns best, making every future session perfectly tailored to you.

When the method fits the mind, learning becomes inevitable.
