About Jennifer
I went to state school in Somerset, then onto Cardiff and Oxford ... overseas, and now (I hope) the Bar....! and so I know first-hand how difficult it can be to access clear, high-quality academic support. A lot of the time, it’s not about ability..... Rather, it’s about being shown how to structure an argument, write clearly, and approach essays with confidence and genuine interest in expressing your own view.
I’m currently on my way to becoming a barrister, having completed the Bar course, and studying for final exams this summer... I have also completed a PhD in Human Geography and an MSt in Women’s Studies. Teaching is a way for me to share those skills and help students feel more confident, capable, and in control of their work. I have relocated back to the UK recently, from the Gulf.
I find it genuinely rewarding to help students go from feeling stuck to understanding what they’re doing.. that is why I have done it for these year, and I love seeing people doing well.

Are you an LLB law student, or someone who needs help drafting an application / how to approach a legal problem or maybe even a Master's student?
I have 5 yrs of university teaching, a strong academic background, including a PhD in Human Geography and an MSt in Women’s Studies (Oxford), offering tailored tutoring across law and essay-based subjects.
My teaching focuses on helping you think critically and write persuasively ... these are of course essential skills for success in both law and humanities disciplines.
I can help with:
Core LLB subjects (Contract, Legal Writing etc)
Competition Law
Intellectual Property Law
Women's Rights / Human Rights subjects
Essay writing and problem question technique
Legal research and critical analysis
Understanding complex topics (e.g. trusts, tracing, causation)
How to approach Master's-level coursework and dissertations
General academic writing and English essay skills
My approach:
I break complex ideas down into clear, logical steps and show you how to apply them effectively under exam or coursework conditions. I also focus heavily on improving written expression, argument structure, and creativity ...skills that translate across disciplines. In today's world, university lecturers want to hear your authentic voice and opinions! Not something that AI has generated! This is how you will get the top marks!
Who I teach:
Undergraduate students (LLB, GDL and essay-based degrees)
Master’s students (including dissertation support)
International students studying in English who need some advice /tutoring
Students preparing for professional legal roles and want a review of their application/ mentoring around where to go next
