About Joanne
Hello! I’m Joanne, a qualified Early Years teacher with over five years of experience working with children from KG1 to Grade 5. I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Developmental Psychology and Early Childhood, and I’m passionate about helping young learners build strong foundations in phonics, reading, and literacy. Teaching is more than just my job — it’s my passion. I love seeing the moment when reading clicks for a child and they begin to enjoy stories with confidence and curiosity. My lessons are fun, interactive, and tailored to each learner’s needs, combining proven phonics methods (such as Read Write Inc.) with games, storytelling, and activities that make learning memorable. I believe every child can develop a love for reading when they are supported, encouraged, and taught in a way that suits their learning style. My goal is to help students gain confidence, accuracy, and fluency in reading while nurturing their curiosity and imagination. Whether your child is just beginning to recognize sounds or needs support to improve fluency and comprehension, I will create engaging, personalized lessons to help them succeed — and most importantly, enjoy the journey of learning to read!
