About Maya
In my lessons, we explore the chemistry of life, going beyond memorisation to truly understand how living systems function. I use a methodology that combines deep analytical review with structured case studies to make biochemistry clear and meaningful. Together, we examine macromolecules such as proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids, learning how their structures determine their functions.
We also study metabolic pathways to see how energy flows and transforms within cells. Enzyme kinetics is another focus, helping you understand how enzymes control and accelerate vital biochemical reactions. Complex topics are broken into simple, understandable steps, making learning approachable and engaging.
Through case studies, we connect theory to real-life biological processes, reinforcing comprehension and practical application. Lessons are tailored to help students excel in coursework, exams, and research projects. I provide guidance to strengthen analytical skills and build confidence in tackling difficult concepts.

I am a Chemistry tutor with over 7 years of experience and an MSc in Green Chemistry. My expertise lies in helping students understand and master polymer science. I have successfully guided learners through polymer characterisation techniques such as Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). These methods allow us to accurately determine molecular weight, thermal properties, and crystallinity of polymers.
A major focus of my teaching is explaining structure-property relationships and how they influence polymer behaviour. I help students connect experimental data with real-world applications, making complex concepts approachable. Over the years, I have worked with students in materials science, chemical engineering, and polymer chemistry, tailoring lessons to their specific academic and research needs.
I emphasise practical understanding alongside theoretical knowledge, encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students gain confidence in analysing results and interpreting polymer properties. I enjoy creating lessons that are interactive, detailed, and engaging.
