About Olivia
My teaching style is hands-on, pacy, engaging, getting students to spot their weaknesses and using exam papers and focused exercises to improve them. I am confident using Zoom as a teaching platform, delivering tuition and workshops. Experience includes: One-to-one tutoring in GCSE English Language and Literature for Virtual Schools, using assessment and feedback to build on student’s prior performance, and producing training materials. English teacher in large secondary school, planning, delivering and assessing units of work to years 7-13. Thorough knowledge of all aspects of grammar, stylistic elements and text types. As the author of two YA books, I give regular online creative writing workshops and speak at schools and festivals.
