About Hazel
I am a singing tutor with more than 4 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Songwriting, with a voice specialization. My teaching combines modern technology such as DAWs, vocal processors, and studio microphones with traditional vocal training. Students learn to perform with vocal loops, create layered arrangements, and explore live electronic performance. I work with R&B, Soul, Acoustic Pop, and Contemporary Christian styles. Lessons focus on lyric interpretation, phrasing, harmonies, and tone shaping. I teach hobbyists and aspiring recording artists, blending technique with creativity. Students gain confidence in studio production, live performance, and vocal expression. Lessons are tailored to individual goals, from improving tone to crafting complex vocal layers. My approach emphasizes artistry, storytelling, and self-expression. Students practice harmonizing, layering, and performing with impact. Feedback is encouraging, clear, and constructive. I teach singing through warm, interactive, and goal-oriented lessons, perfect for singer-songwriters and performers of original songs. Lessons focus on melody creation, lyrical flow, stylistic choices, and recording vocal demos. Students learn basic self-accompaniment on piano or guitar to complement their singing. I use creative prompts, collaborative exercises, and simple recording setups to make learning fun and practical. I help students find and refine their unique musical voice with confidence. Sessions emphasize phrasing, tone, lyric interpretation, and artistic expression. I specialize in guiding Church Ensemble Players and Crossover Artists to develop performance, songwriting, and recording skills. Lessons provide hands-on experience in composing, arranging, performing, and recording original music. My methodology balances technical skill development with creative exploration. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s goals to ensure steady progress. Students leave with tools to write, perform, and record with artistry and confidence. Together, we cultivate musical expression, originality, and storytelling through song.
