About Margaret
I have been teaching the Violin and Viola privately and for various schools as well as performing professionally since 2003. I am a patient and encouraging teacher and try to make my lessons both enjoyable and demanding according to the individual student's ability and ambitions. I enjoy getting young children off to a flying start, have a successful track record of preparing more advanced students for exams and auditions and also enjoy teaching adults who may be learning something new, returning to the instrument after a long break or looking to expand their skills. As a performer I have freelanced with many of the UK's finest orchestras including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, BBC NOW, Ulster Orchestra and the RTE National Symphony Orchestra in Ireland. I have appeared with popular artists as diverse as Rod Stewart to Rihanna and Paloma Faith and as a session musician I have recorded for labels such as EMI, Epic and Polydor.
