About Sam
I am currently a student at the University of California, San Diego and I will graduate in June 2018 with a BA in Literature/Cultural Studies (minor in Critical Gender Studies). I have been tutoring college writing for two years across two institutions and have been trained to tutor ACT/SAT prep as well.

I want to empower students to become better writers and thinkers, rather than just help with singular assignments or goals. I accomplish this by using the assignments at hand to show students how to look for patterns in their writing and think critically about their task--which are skills that they can apply to a variety of tasks later on. Not only does this philosophy help students become better writers, but it increases confidence and enables flexible, critical thinking that is especially needed for tests like the ACT and SAT.
