About Emma
Hello, my name is Emma and I am an experienced UKS2 teacher with nine years of classroom experience teaching English and maths. I enjoy helping children understand things that once felt difficult and seeing their confidence grow as learning starts to make sense. I believe everyone can succeed with the right support, patience and encouragement. In my lessons, mistakes are part of learning and I take time to explain ideas clearly and break them down step by step. I adapt my teaching to suit each learner so that sessions feel calm, supportive and manageable. I especially enjoy working with pupils who feel unsure or anxious about their learning and helping them realise they are more capable than they think. I chose to tutor because I miss working closely with children and value the opportunity to focus on individual needs, goals and progress. I look forward to supporting you in building confidence and strong skills in English and maths.

I am an experienced UKS2 teacher with nine years in the classroom, offering English and maths tutoring for pupils in Years 4–6. I have extensive experience supporting children with SATs preparation, closing gaps in understanding, building confidence, and developing strong core skills in reading, writing and maths. My tutoring style is calm, patient and encouraging. I focus on helping children truly understand concepts rather than memorising methods, adapting sessions to each child’s needs, learning style and pace. I am particularly skilled at working with children who feel anxious, lack confidence, or need concepts explained in a clear and supportive way. I aim to make sessions positive and purposeful, helping children feel more confident, capable and motivated in their learning. Whether your child needs targeted SATs support, consolidation of key skills, or a confidence boost in English or maths, I provide structured, supportive tutoring that helps children make real progress.
