About Devon
Devon customizes her yoga sessions to your unique goals. Devon has been teaching private yoga sessions to people of all skill levels, ranging from people who have never tried yoga to the more experienced yogi.
Her passion lies in rehabilitation, working with people who have survived strokes and traumatic brain injuries. Devon has a curiosity for learning, and shadows Occupational and Physical therapists weekly. Lastly she applies what she learns to compliment her personal training and yoga clients.
I enjoy helping people achieve their goals!
I always had a love for yoga; I have been practicing since high school as a way to supplement sports and keep my mind at ease. But there was a bigger feeling I got at the end of my practice that I needed to explore more, I began my teacher training journey while working in a sales position to reduce stress. I started out teaching in different apartment complexes, and found myself teaching private yoga classes more so than classes.
200 hour yoga teacher training certification through the Yoga Alliance
Personal Trainer Certified through the NCSF
B.S. In Health Sciences, Pre-Occupational Therapy discipline

The first session I like to ask a lot of questions! Such as:
-how often do you practice?
-what are your main goals from yoga?
-what interests you to practice?
-any physical injuries/limitations/surgeries I should be aware of? (Including pregnancy)
I truly enjoy working 1:1 with students because it makes it much more concentrated on your goals! In your typical class, there are varying levels of ability, so this focuses on just you!
Students I have worked with vary greatly, including:
-People looking to try yoga for the first time (all ages)
-High school students for sports performance to maintain flexibility
-Working on inversions such as headstands, handstands, forearm balance
-Building strength through time under tension
-Elderly, who need to maintain balance, flexibility and strength
-People who are looking to manage and control breathing
A gentleman I work with came in originally to work on handstand practice. Through our practice over the past several months, he has learned how to control his core so that he does not over extend his back while upside-down. More importantly, we performed strength training exercises to target his tight hip flexors and range of motion in his shoulders to help correct his posture!
