About Daniel
I'm a dedicated tutor who loves making complex subjects like maths and science accessible and engaging. With a BEng in Mechanical Engineering and a PGCE specialising in Physics, I've spent years teaching both in the UK and abroad, most recently at a British university in Bahrain. My journey began in the Royal Navy, where I honed a practical, problem-solving mindset that now shapes my approach to teaching.

My Approach to Tutoring
Techniques and Teaching Methodology: My teaching philosophy centres on helping students grasp the core concepts of maths and science through real-life applications, rather than relying on rote memorisation. I believe that understanding how these subjects apply in the real world not only makes learning more engaging but also ensures that students can confidently tackle problems in both academic settings and everyday life. I use a variety of teaching techniques, including practical examples, visual aids, and interactive problem-solving, to bring complex topics to life and make them accessible to all learners.
Typical Length of a Lesson: Each lesson typically lasts 60 minutes, providing ample time to explore topics in depth and address any questions or difficulties the student may have. For those preparing for exams or needing extra support, longer sessions can be arranged to ensure thorough understanding and preparation.
Qualifications and Experience: I hold a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Mechanical Engineering and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with a specialisation in Physics. I have extensive teaching experience, having taught physics in the UK and mathematics and engineering at a British university in Bahrain. Additionally, my background in the Royal Navy has given me a strong foundation in discipline, problem-solving, and practical applications of engineering and scientific principles, which I bring to my tutoring.
