About Liam
With a First Class in History (BA) from the University of Bristol, I have gone on to hold numerous roles working in education. Whilst at university I was a volunteer tutor for the organisation IntoUniversity, which aims to help children from disadvantaged backgrounds get into higher education. Immediately after university, I worked at the University of Reading as part of a career mentoring team and have built up a deep understanding of the various paths available in education to various industries. My latest job saw me conducting historical research for a new documentary series that will be broadcast on the History Channel in May 2020.
My perspective of history is simple–it must be thought of as what is essentially a giant narrative. It may be more complex, with more characters and details, but it can be viewed as a great story. Once it is understood, it is impossible to forget. My genuine passion and love for the subject will bring this story alive. Then, in preparation for exams, it is merely a case of understanding the criteria, going through the past papers, memorising the dates/names/places, and we will achieve great grades.
