First class begins with an assessment of swim "level" and from there we work to set personalized goals and work towards them throughout the course of lessons
I've helped young children who were scared of being in the water or working with instructors become comfortable and enjoy the pool, have worked with older children helping them hone in on key aspects of swimming technique in a fun interactive envoronment, have also worked with Down syndrome, autistic, and hearing impaired individuals to learn basic swim skills as well as gain proficiency in the strokes.
Recently worked with a sweet little boy who never spoke a word to anyone outside his peers and family. I would speak to him and he would communicate non verbally to me, but after a couple lessons we were able to establish some more trust and when I asked him a question about something that excited him, instead of nodding like usual, he burst into speech and told me all about it. It put a smile on my face knowing that he was comfortable enough to share his excitement with me :)
