About Evan
Specializing in safety and simplicity, my kid, teens and adult students get lots of encouragement from someone who has been on a board almost every day for the past 25 years.
I don't only teach the "cool kids" but all ages can learn how to have fun at their own pace. I have an expert eye for which ramps would make the most sense for beginners and even shortcuts for dozens of tricks. Sponsored for 18 years and traveled the world doing demonstrations and teaching. Outside of private and group lessons, I do kids birthday parties so you could say I have the ability to turn something that might seem scary or intimidating into a very fun and memorable activity.
My students achieve their goals when they apply the techniques and practice during lessons and on their own.
So far I have been able to help skaters as young as two years old and as old as 69years old safely have a good time on their boards. I can't wait to help you SKATEBOARD SAFELY FASTER. 😄👍🏻🛹
I enjoy empowering my students with confidence, knowledge and a light hearted approach. This activity is highly rewarding because it teaches perseverance, tenacity, planning skills, balance, special awareness, social etiquette, and gets kiddos outside!
I am grateful to see the look on someone's face when they break through the next level and look stoked!
I hated feeling afraid, intimidated or stuck learning to skateboard, and recognized the need for more accessible instruction in a sport dominated by tough guys who weren't very sensitive.
I have been certified officially to teach skateboarding as a contracted instructional coach and have done so for four or five different companies when they've needed my services. Having spent 24 years self educating about the entire skateboard culture and industry, I have gained lots of knowledge about skateboarding history, technique, business, manufacturing, skateparks and instruction. I also make skateboarding movies which allows me to incorporate video into the lessons to help students watch replays to improve technique.

After assessing their experience, I take them through a safety exercise list. We work on basic balance challenges, then move into beginner tricks. The student has the chance to level up by proving their ability to safely apply steps in order. We eventually get to all kinds of ramps at skateparks and more technical aspects. Every step of the way is designed to build confidence and educate along the way.
