About Jaye
i am passionate about teaching sewing. I patiently support my students in reaching their sewing goals. I have a Bachelor if Science in Fashion Design but I have been sewing since I was 11 years old. I have been teaching sewing Sind 2011. The Sewing Boot Camp began when a private group enlisted me to teach a small group of girls how to sew. After the class the organizer nicknamed the class-"The Sewing Boot Camp" because I was able to keep the girls on pa e together and teach them real skills in a short period of time.

About the lesson

First we discuss student and parent goals. Then I develop a plan that includes goal and objectives, skills and technique, guided lessons and independent practice for the student. If the student has never seen previously I have special technique for teaching them how to become comfortable with the sewing machine. Later we learn to see from a pattern. We also discuss textiles for any garment there student will construct. Most time the dirt garment is a tote or a simple skirt or sometimes an apron. This will develop confidence so the student can move into more complicated patterns.
