About Crystal
My particular service is very personal to each client. I try hard to get inside the head of my students and figure out their strongest learning style. I do this so I can present a new concept in a way that works well for each student. I strive to gain a strong relationship with each student so they feel safe and comfortable at their lessons.
I really enjoy the one-on-one experience of working with children. I love getting to know people on a personal level and helping them to learn in the way that works best for them. We always have a good time, but we always leave having learned something new.
I have a degree in Elementary Education, so I have been trained specifically to work with children. While I do have experience teaching all subjects, music is the subject I have taught the longest, since 2010. I have taught small groups, large groups, and one-on-one lessons, but my favorite is one-on-one because it allows me the opportunity to become better acquainted with each child. I have played the piano for 20 years, violin for 16, ukulele and guitar for 7.

When I meet a new student, my first priority is to get to know them and their desires as a music student. I try to learn why they want to take lessons, what they want to learn, and what they hope to get out of it. Each week we will work on new songs together and if it isn't making sense I will adjust the way I teach to fit the needs of each student.
