She overcame many obstacles in her life that affected her health including disfiguring Polio, and kidney stones, kidney disease. She had a passion for teaching in all areas of her life. And had a believe that all children are special and capable of learning. And my mother Mary Jane Hurst also a teacher in Van Buren. As well as my Aunts and Uncles who were teachers.
