About Chuck
Ceraso Gallery & Studio showcases the artwork of Chuck Ceraso. The artist also teaches in his studio.
"I love working with students, facilitating insights into the experience of seeing and of gaining skills with different mediums.
I've worked with thousands of people over the years and have learned how to lead students into a place of fearless creative exploration and development."
I studied art at the University of Notre Dame, then went on to study with the American Impressionist Master, Henry Hensche, who taught me a way of seeing and approaching painting that has given me a continuously developing skill in both.
I did quick sketch portraits for a living for over 15 years which was a wonderful training in understanding the proportions and structures of the head and face.

About the lesson

In working with new students, I first interview them to understand what their interest and motivation is in drawing or painting. If they've been painting/drawing for awhile, I review samples of their work to figure out how I might lead them into new territory. From there I put together a program that will have them further develop their skills.
If they're completely new, I tailor a program for them based on the interview and my sense of what may be the quickest way for them to find a rewarding experience.
