About John

John Solari is an active performer and collaborator in the Phoenix area, presenting recitals and accompanying soloists and chamber groups in concert. In the summers he has traveled in the United States and abroad to participate in festivals such as Schlern International Music Festival, Brevard Music Festival, and the White Nights Piano Festival. Passionate for music of all genres from the early Baroque to contemporary and new works, John is well equipped to train style and musicality, help students understand form and structure within works of all periods, and coach successful performance techniques.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from ASU, with four years of private training under Dr. Baruch Meir and coursework which includes pedagogy, theory, and history. In addition, I have studied Renaissance and Baroque styles with scholar and organ performer Dr. Kimberly Marshall.

For students with little or no training, I will use method books to give them the necessary requisite skills, and then work through common and uncommon repertoire to broaden their interests and technique.

For students with background knowledge of theory and sight reading skills, I will get to know their tastes and help expand technical and musical skills through music that excites them.
