About Riley
Hello, I am a college student in calculus 2. Going to school for mechanical engineering. I love tutoring and have been doing it for a long time. I specialize in algebra, college algebra, geometry, and trig.
I stand for quality learning, especially with early education in young students lecturing online or in person with no student to teacher interaction can be extremely frustrating. I offer a safe environment for those struggling with test or homework anxiety. I don’t focus on test taking but rather then the curriculum itself. I help teach the subject and encourage students to think for themselves and so we fully understand what we are learning and reach the proper solution so that when the test comes the student is fully prepared and knows what to expect.
I love helping kids and young adults feel good about their school work. It's something that really impacts students daily lives and their mental health. I think that sometimes students are to afraid to speak up or be heard. Not being afraid to raise your hand in class is a big deal sometimes. I enjoy making a safe environment where no one is judged or told they are wrong for their thinking. School is hard but together we can be successful.
I was asked by a professor to host a teaching seminar with him every week after class.
I am in my third year of college and in calc 2. I have taken about six math classes in high school and six math classes in college as of right now. I have taught privately on and off for about a year but have been teaching at school ever since middle school.

I ask questions first. Working through a couple assignments first to see where they struggle. I then mock a couple questions from their homework and see where the problem areas are and go through different routes of how we can resolve these errors. reapeating cirriculum is important because then we evaulate how they feel if they need more help or if they feel like they could teach this to someone else.
I have worked with students ages 6-25. I tend to work with younger students in middle to high school but I don't mind helping college students as well. I myself am 22.
