About Mike
During my 2nd year of college
I have a B.S. in Computer Science, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. My SAT score was 1540. I served as Math and Computer Science Tutor and Instructor, Compass School, Vermont. I have years of math and programming experience in a vareity of specializaiton areas.

I start by understanding student's goals and stumbling blocks. I then devise a plan of action. I am good at helping with ongoing issues like homework, preparing for mid-terms and finals, or advancing your knowledge in Math or CS (I taught high school research projects in Graph Theory).

Patience, clarity of explation, and personality match are key to an effective tutoring relatinoship. There are many people who know math, but few who can explain things well. A good tutor meets you at your level and brings clarity where you were lost.

Mike was an excellent tutor for my high schooler and later college-age daughter who now is now in college studying Computer Science. She was at Stuyvesant High School in New York, and some math HW problems had extremely high difficulty level. She was a strong student, but Mike helped her be even stronger. He was very patient and explained things clearly. He is also simply a talented mathematician, so for some olympiad-level problems, he could still solve them. I have a Math Masters degree myself, and I could not crack some of the problems he cracked. He also helped her out in some CS classes in college. He is a tech wizz and codes for fun. Cannot recommend him more highly.
