About Shipra
Learning is a skill and it is so amazing see how different poeple have completely different way of acquiring and using this skill. I love to show my students how they helped me grow and learn too. Along with the tutoring of academic content, I try to help students develop a growth mindset so they can succeed in other ascepts of life too.
I am a manufacturing engineer but I love staying in touch with academia. I love to see the change and similarity in content for various classes over the years. I have observed and appreciate the differences in teaching methods from different schools.
I used to tutor my little brother ever since he started going to school and it always brought me immense joy to see him succeed. I continued that with others when I moved away from home. There is nothing better than helping someone learn something that they don't believe they understand.
I graduated with a B.S. in Bioengineering in May 2020 from Washington State University (WSU). During college, I tutored classmates and roommates throughout my academic career. I have worked as a teacher's aide for introduction to Engineering class at WSU. I have also worked with high school students to help them get math and science credit at WSU.

It is so exciting to work with new students! After I have seen the request on tutor.com, I like to schedule a phone call to understand your needs better and to determine if we are a good fit. I like to start with only two weeks of commitment at first, as a probationary period.
I have worked with students of all ages at different times in my life. I have also tutored in two different countries so I am pretty flexible to the student's learning style. I have worked with students on the grade scale A through F and I understand that different students struggle on different level with the same topic.
Please make sure your tutor is willing to be patient with you. There is nothing worse than a tutor who causes a stressful environment while you are struggling to understand something.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Some common things to be prepared about are scheduling, subjects you need help with, what do you want out of the tutoring experience- are you trying to understand the material or just trying to pass a test? It is okay to have different objective for different classes.

Perfect! Shipra was very knowledge and very willing to work with my schedule which was really nice for me. She was able to help me through my calc 2 class that I was struggling greatly in and I ended up feeling very confident with my ability after we were done in just a very short time. You won’t be regret hiring her:)

Perfect! I wish I would have found Shirpa sooner. My son has struggled with math for a while now, whether it be because he’s bored, doesn’t care or doesn’t understand. A year ago we signed him up for mathnasium looking for a miracle - the problem there is they have their own curriculum they want children to work on and that wasn’t helping our situation. Fast forward to this quarter with another F in math.. at a loss I searched for a private tutor. Shirpa has been exactly what our son needed- she’s patient, understands and is able to explain things in a while that he gets. He’s taking notes... NOTES on math AND excited about meeting with Shirpa every week. His grade has gone from an F to a B. He’s feeling more confident and eager to learn.

I enjoyed the enthusiasm she carried throughout our sessions and helped me find passion about learning. An amazing tutor that taught me a lot about what study habits help me personally the most. Highly recommend!
Shipra is very patient and enjoys going over all the little details that can be confusing to put together, she basically taught me ochem and I would never have gotten as far as I did without her help 😊 In my case, we set definite goals for progress and how much we needed to cover in the time we had and while she was firm in sticking to it she was also reasonable about adjusting it to our needs. Make sure to ask questions and don't slack and you'll be golden in whatever subject you need help in.
