About Haiyan

Hey there!

I am a tutor for middle and high school math, and I also offer SAT/ACT/ISEE test prep. I am a graduate of Boston Latin School and graduated in the top 5% of the class. I scored in the 95th percentile for all three SAT sections. I believe it's important to teach a problem-solving framework, which allows students to use the skills they've learned and apply them to future challenges. I try to encourage students to be creative in thinking about problems, and I like to provide a positive and supportive learning environment.

I find it so rewarding to help students achieve their goals!

I have a degree in electrical engineering, and worked as an electrical engineer after school. My coursework during school included calc I and II, differential equations, and linear algebra. I scored in the 95th percentile on the SATs.

About the lesson

I love to do an intro meeting, where the student can provide an idea of what they are struggling with. This allows me to build a plan for how I can help!
