About Mamatha
I graduated from Portland state university in June 2013 with Master of Science in Engineering Management, as well as, Bachelor of Engineering from India. I have worked as a tutor in Mathnasium for about 2 years and freelanced ever since. I have taught mathematics to kids of all grades and have excelled them in the subject. I have had the most experience in teaching arithmetic, pre-algebra, algebra, advanced algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus. Through effective communication and patience, the kids are not only able to learn the concepts well but also improve their analytical skills. I would say my tutoring philosophy is to encourage students by making math more practical and fun to learn. I am very enthusiastic about learning with these students and making sure that they are getting most out of every session.
Ardent lover of math and computer science with a great passion for teaching! Experience in tutoring math to kids of elementary, middle and high school previously in Mathnesium and also have tutored in a private environment to community kids. I have taught coding in Java, C++ to a lot of high school and engineering grade students in addition to teaching my own 9 year old daughter and her friends.

Before scheduling a prospective student for a class, I would meet with the student and the parents/guardians and work hand in hand to build a plan of action. I believe building rapport with the student will help build trust between each other. Students create a detailed description of their current situation and their desired results. Next, we come up with a set of goals and how to implement the plan of action appropriately in order to accomplish said results. This plan depends on the immediate needs of the student, but many plans include some sort of accommodation to pre and post-session communication inorder to track progress.
