About Parker

Hello! My name is Parker, and I'm a computer science graduate with a deep passion for math education. I firmly believe that everyone has the potential to excel in math and even develop a passion for it when they are in the right environment. My goal is to create a supportive, engaging, and stimulating learning space where students feel comfortable exploring and playing with mathematical concepts.

What It's Like Working with Me

Working with me is a collaborative and enriching experience. I prioritize creating an atmosphere where students feel at ease to ask questions, make mistakes, and discover solutions on their own terms. My approach is rooted in patience and understanding, ensuring that each student can progress at their own pace while receiving the encouragement and support they need.

My Teaching Philosophy

I employ exploratory, Socratic, and inquiry-based methods to teach math, believing these techniques to be the most effective in fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of the subject. Here’s what you can expect from my tutoring sessions:

Exploratory Learning: I encourage students to investigate mathematical problems and concepts on their own, guiding them through the process of discovery. This method helps them develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Socratic Method: By asking thought-provoking questions, I help students uncover answers and develop a deeper understanding of mathematical principles. This dialogue-based approach not only clarifies concepts but also builds confidence in their analytical abilities.

Inquiry-Based Approach: I support students in formulating their own questions and hypotheses about math problems, leading them through the process of testing and refining their ideas. This method cultivates a sense of curiosity and ownership over their learning journey.

Why I'll Do an Excellent Job

My combination of a strong technical background and a passion for teaching math uniquely positions me to help students succeed. Here’s why I believe I can make a significant impact:

Passionate and Committed: My dedication to math education is evident in my enthusiasm and commitment to helping students find joy in learning math.

Patient and Supportive: I understand that everyone learns at their own pace, and I’m here to provide the patience and support necessary for each student to thrive.

Engaging and Interactive: My teaching methods are designed to be interactive and engaging, making math not just a subject to learn but a field to explore and enjoy.

Tailored Learning Experiences: I customize my approach to meet the individual needs of each student, ensuring that our sessions are effective and enjoyable.

If you're looking for a tutor who is not only knowledgeable but also passionate about creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment, I would be thrilled to work with you. Let's embark on a journey to make math a subject you excel in and love!

Feel free to reach out to schedule a session or to discuss how we can work together to achieve your math goals.

I am currently in a very math heavy major.  This gives me a huge advantage because I actively work with math every day.
