About Angelique

I am able to help a student pinpoint when they become confused in a math algorithm and prove different ways of presenting the same concept.

Seeing a student's face light up when they finally get a difficult concept and seeing their confidence grow with each math problem.

As corny as this sounds,  I've always wanted to be a teacher.  I love the students and continue to be excited when the math "clicks"



I taught middle school math for 11 years.  I left the classroom to become an educational diagnostician when I received my Master's Degree in Special Education.  Although I am no longer in the classroom,  I continue to tutor students both at school and privately. I have tutored students ranging from elementary mathematics to Algebra I.

I have taught all "types" : honors,  regulars, fundamentals. I have taught students that were eager to learn and those that were completely resistant. I have my Master's Degree in Special Education and have the ability to maximize all students' full potential.  

As I have been told.... I've been selling math to students who don't necessarily want to buy it,  but they buy it because I know how to sell it. 



You need to find someone who has multiple ways of teaching the same concept. Often a student's lack of understanding is not determined by the student's  ability but by how the concept is being presented. 



A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
If possible, students need to be able to pinpoint where or  they become confused with a concept.  Often students understand parts of the algorithm but get confused at one step.  If they can pinpoint when they get)confused and are able to excites this with a teacher they are more likely to be successful. 

An effective teacher, however, knows how to question a student to help them to pinpoint their confusion.
