About Denise
I am a Florida certified teacher with 16 years of teaching experience. I am certified in Math 6-12, ESOL K-12, and Special Education K-12. I am also ESOL and Austim endorsed. I have a Masters in Special Education. I specialize in Math and organizational skills as well as helping parents how to navigate their childs education and be their child's advocate.
I love to work with students and help them reach their maximum potential. I believe all students have the ability to learn.
I am the mother of two beautiful daughters. They are the reason I became a teacher of students with disabilities as they too are learning disabled. I have worked with students of all ages and enjoy being able to help them succeed.

I enjoy seeing the student succeed and feel that they can do anything. I enjoy seeing the parents being able to navigate their child education with ease and be confident that they can advocate for their child.
When my oldest daughter was diagnosed with a disability at the age of 5 I realized I needed to do more than just be a mom. I changed my major and became a teacher. I have been helping students in and out of the classroom for the last 16 years and I love it!
I have a Masters in Special Education. I am certified in mathematics 6-12. I am ESOL and Autism Endorsed. I have two daughter who are learning disabled. I have worked in the public school system in different capacities, from the office to the classroom to the district offices for the last 25 years.

I usually first evaluate the student as to their personal needs. I then speak with parents as to what their child needs and come up with a mutual agreement as to how how often the student needs tutoring and what the expectations are.
I have worked with students in the regular curriculum, in an inclusion setting, in a self-contained setting, and on a one-to-one setting. I have worked with students in the public school system as well as in the private school system. I have worked with students seeking regular diploma as well as special diploma.
First find someone that is willing to find out what your weakness and strengths are. Don't go for the teacher that will give you the answer with no work from you.
I was humbled this past year when a student asked me if I was going to leave him like the rest of his teachers. When I assured him that I was not planning on going anywhere, he smiled and said good I would like you to stay and see me graduate. I told him it would be my privilage. That afternoon, he told another student that he was doing his work to show me he could because I told him I would stay. The other student asked what different it made and he said, all the other ones that helped me left, but she said she will stay.
