About Ben
Having tutored dozens of students over the years, some of the most common feedback I receive is that I make challenging topics accessible, that I am very approachable and easy to talk to, and that I am highly attuned to students' needs. I work to tailor content and teaching style to what helps you learn best.
My background also gives me the ability to help you with a wide variety of academic subjects, as well as with admissions and scholarships for college and graduate school:
--I got a perfect score on the SAT and have helped many students improve their SAT scores.
--I have a PhD in neuroscience and master's in education from Stanford University, a master's in psychology from Cambridge University, and bachelor's degrees from Arizona State University in biochemistry and in English with a focus in linguistics.
--I am the recipient of a number of nationally and internationally competitive awards, including the National Merit Scholarship, the Goldwater Scholarship, the Gates-Cambridge Scholarship, the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, and the Fulbright Scholarship.
--I have years of experience providing tutoring to students individually, and I have also taught at Stanford, Tsinghua University, and other institutions across the world. My tutoring and teaching have spanned math, English, programming, languages, neuroscience, and standardized tests like the SAT and GRE. I have also provided guidance on college and graduate school admissions and scholarships to dozens of students.
I find it deeply exciting to help students develop greater understanding and reach their potential.
