About James
I am a recently retired high school teacher after teaching for 34 years. I was a department Chairman for the math department for 15 years and also worked at a local community college teaching math for 6 years. I have taught all high school math classes including Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, PreCalculus, and Statistics. I have a Bachlors, Masters and Sixth Year degree. I have been tutoring for much of my career and love working one on one with students. I believe "Math Is Life" and anybody can learn math. The key is to believe in yourself and be willing to work at it. Math is fun so connect with me and find out for yourself.

I was coaching youth soccer while in high school. I realized I liked working with young people very much and I always was strong in math. I put the two together and decided to persue a career in teaching mathematics at the high school level.
Bathelors Degree in math education. Masters degree in secondary education. Sixth year in administration. I have taught math for 34 years in a regional high school. I also taught 6 years as an adjunct professor at a local community college.

My process is to listen to students needs and then teach through doing. That is I explain the concept or process involved and get the student active right away doing the problems. I teach through a discovery method of learning with constant involvement between student and teacher thoughout the lesson.
High school students grades 9-12. Middle school students grades 7-8. College students all ages.
Look for someone who has a lot of experience in the subject matter you need and someone who has been tutoring students for awhile. Also you want someone who uses a hands on approach to learning by getting you actively involved rather than just listening then hi or her speak.
My son got married last year to a girl from Scotland he met while studying abroad. It was a great day.

Perfect! Jim has been great!
Perfect! I Loved the simplicity of connecting with tutors that might work for our son's needs, and then choosing the one tutor that was the best fit for him. The tutor we chose was James and he has been excellent in all ways. He meet with our son and asked him the proper questions to find out where he needed help, what his goals where, and lets our son know exactly what he needs to work on and strengthen. Every session James is prompt, very professional, and above all else James has been so kind and respectful to our son, correcting him where he needs correcting and always so respectfully. Our son has literally hated being tutored in the past because he says he feels dumb. James is the first tutor that has ever made our son feel comfortable in asking questions, receiving correction, direction, and as a result he is gaining confidence in himself as well as a better understanding of the subject. We choose James not only because he is more than qualified to teach/tutor the subject, but also his professionalism and mostly because of the way he respectfully guides and corrects our son in a way that has opened him up to be more receptive about learning. This family highly recommends James to anyone who might need an all around excellent tutor.
