About Christine
Hi! I am Christine! I graduated froman Ivy League institution with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Nutrition.
In high school, I excelled in New York State Regents exams, Advanced Placement (AP) exams and on the national standardized exams because I had amazing mentors and teachers.
In college, I continued to have academic success and was also able to create tutoring and mentoring programs through a Pre-Medical association. Middle and high school students were paired with undergraduate and graduate students to help advance they educational knowledge. It was here where I learned how to create programming for students of different backgrounds and learning styles.
After college, I joined Teach for America and taught secondary math and science to a total of about 300 students. During this time, I became a certified teacher. I taught gifted students as well as students with IEPs and 504s. During my tenure, my cohort received the highest test scores in the county, something that my school had never achieved before.
During medical school, I was asked to be on the Dean's Curriculum Committee as well as one of two students selected to be the chair of New and Prospective Students in the Office of Admissions. I have mentors many students through the college and medical school application process. I was selected by my peers to be inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, a national honor society for students who have empathic bedside manner and who are community service oriented.
Currently, I am a resident at one of the top children's hospitals in the world. However, I continue to serve as a pediatric advocate and focus on medical education and increasing health literacy for all patients and their parents. I still enjoy teaching and love to see students grow.
I have tutored for over 10 years and can truthfully say that I have loved every minute. I continue to find new ways to help students to learn information. Because I have a love for math and science, it excites me to see students go from being fearful to excited about learning. With my pediatric background, I understand how to reach students with learning disabilities, unique learning styles, and whose primary language is not English.
I also love mentoring students who are transitioning from college or to professional school. I can help with resume building, personal statements, and much more!

I love seeing my students grow and meet their goals!
I am a pediatric resident physician at one of the top children's hopsitals in the country.
I am also former science teacher and having a teaching certification in both math and science.

Working with a new students is alwys a job. First and foremost, it is an individual journey. No two students are the same, and because of this each journey is unique. It is important for me to first assess the learning style of anew student, this allows for optimal learning and teaching during each session. If applicable, I also like to talk with parents to get a sense of the families needs and academic goals.

Perfect! Christine is incredibly knowledgeable, patient and encouraging. She was also very accommodating with her schedule. I highly recommend working with her!
Perfect! Christine was very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. However, because Christine is a pediatrician and not a nurse, she recommended that I work with Amanda Jacobs, who is an RN with experience in teaching students preparing for the NCLEX.

Helpful and kind, flexible schedule, always calls when available!
We worked online and I was able to complete my anatomy and physiology class with an A! It was great experience with tutoring and I will continue if I need help in a future on a nursing program!
My tutor Christine Cummings was very helpful as well as motivating during tutoring. She came up with creative ways to recall information such as acronyms and phrases. She made connections between the material to other areas of life. She made sure that the content which she delivered was accurate and would go out of her way to verify information which lacked clarity. Additionally, she offered me great support and encouragement when she saw me struggling.
Christine is extremely patient and great with explaining and breaking things down so my son can actually understand. Science has always been a subject my son struggled with; but this year has been extra challenging. Christine helped my son raise his Biology grade from a 62 to 83. She has helped him soooo much!!! She is willing to sit with your child as long as it take to help them grasp everything. She’s is very personable and professional.
Very patient and great at breaking down and explaining various difficult concepts
She was excellent and extremely professional! Given her background in both teaching and working with kids, she was really able to connect with my child in a way no other tutor has. My child continues to work with her!
Christine is always accurate and very smart. Very good at listening to my child and what he is having difficulty with. She’s amazing
