About Yvonne
I love tutoring math and helping students succeed in their classes. I have been teaching and tutoring math for over 30 years. Most of my experience is with developmental algebra and college algebra at the community college and college levels. I also tutor trigonometry and business calculus.
I love when a student understands a concept, when it clicks, and I can share that moment with them. I love seeing students succeed. It is really gratifying to see a student go from struggling with math to understanding math.
I have a BA and an MA in mathematics. I also got my secondary teacher certification in mathematics, although I have not kept it current. I have been teaching and tutoring pre-algebra, algebra, trigonometry, and business calculus at the college and community college level for over 30 years. I have also taught ACT prep classes to high school juniors and seniors.

We introduce ourselves to each other. They tell me a little bit about themselves and the class they are taking and the help they are needing. We do a few problems together so that I can see where the student is understanding and where they are needing more explanation or clarification.

I received help in college algebra. I haven’t been enrolled in school for 8+ years. I was TERRIFIED! My first quiz I made a 58%. I was ready to give up! Mrs. Yvonne spoke to my class about tutoring services. That really changed my life! She is very kind, patient, passionate about math. She worked with me until I got an understanding about math. I’m a visual learner and she gave examples/ tips that stuck in my head during the tests and homework. Her face lit up when she saw that I understood and was starting to enjoy math. She went above and beyond to stay in contact when our school went totally online during covid -19. I can’t say enough great things about her! I went from a 58% to a 94%!
Yvonne is an excellent math tutor. Math is definitely her subject her passion for her students to learn step by step is amazing. Her knowledge with math will want you to succeed. Her teaching is straight forward she encourages you and helps you with any questions you ask. She has the energy to tutor and the patience for her students. I would recommend her with anyone. She is amazing !!!
Very patient and knows her stuff. Always puts information out there to where an average person can understand it. She helped me understand each step and went over it as many times as it took for me to understand without ever getting frustrated with me.
