About Haley
I am a college Mathematics and Computer Science student who has worked as a programming assistant at my school's Digital Initiatives office. I'm passionate about the subject and have strong skills in Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Triginometry, Calculus, Java and C Programming, and can teach AP Computer Science material.

I will first try to figure out which way the student learns best (through drawing stuff out, talking about the problem, giving background, or through demonstration with another type of problem). I'll ensure that they feel comfortable asking as many questions as possible and go through problems one by one as slow as needed until the student fully understands the process and material.
I have been tutoring other students at my college in math and computer science for the past year but also have been teaching younger students to gain a base understanding in algebra and middle school math.
I would look for someone you're comfortable with because asking questions is going to be key! To build knowledge in this field you have to have strong foundations so make sure that you are encouraged to take as long as you need to understand everything.

Haley is able to explain math in a way that my daughter was finally able to understand. Countless hours and too much money was wasted on other tutors (I had nearly given up!) but when Rachel saw that Haley was at Lewis and Clark (somewhere she is interested in for college) we decided to give her a shot. By far the best decision ever! Haley has helped Rachel with pre calc to ACT and SAT prep and shes been amazing! She helped get Rachel’s ACT math score from a 27 to a 32, and I know we will see similar results with her SAT. I even recommended Haley to Rachel’s high school math department as an option for one of the tutors that her school pays for.
Haley was able to seamlessly transition between teaching my 9th grader basic algebra to my 11th grader in calculus. She was not only kind, but extremely patient. My kids used to despise math, but Haley taught them to love it. Now when Jackson (the 11th grader) starts taking computer science classes his senior year, I’ll know just the tutor to call! I’ve used many tutors with my two sons, but Haley has been by far the best yet!!
Haley did a great job finding a pace that fit my learning style and helped me get ahead on my math work during my first semester at college. She is very friendly and I would absolutely recommend her exquisite skills and expertise for anyone looking for a leg up in their Comp Sci/Math courses!

I generally price at around $40 - $50 an hour because of the amount of specialized work I put into each lesson. I understand that every student learns and works differently and that becoming interested in the subject can make the learning process much easier so I try my best to teach in the way a student will learn best and make practice problems that they'll find fun and interesting.
