About Katie
I am a plastics engineer that has a passion for teaching. I have experience tutoring a variety of math classes. My husband is currently in college and I have been tutoring him and his classmates in trig, physics, statics and other subjects. I always try to understand how my student best learns so that I can adjust the way I teach to fit their needs.
I love helping a student understand a math problem or concept that they were struggling with.
i have a degree in plastics engineering from Penn State Behrend. I tutor college level students and tutored younger students while in high school.

I always like to start out getting to know my student and their interests.
Once the subject is known I do an assessment test to understand what understanding the student has of the subject so I can better help them.
Ill go over how the tutoring session will go. If the student needs help with background work we can start there and then transition to homework problems.
Positive reinforcement is something I employ regularly to ensure they dont get discouraged and I like to leave some problems for them to do on their own to see how much they retained from our lesson.
