About Parker
I’m a current college nursing student with the dream of becoming a cardiovascular surgeon. I have passed math classes up to Calculus I and have tutored 5 students previously in math classes as well. Each one of my students has improved on their grade by the end of our sessions and informed me of their improved understanding of the subject. Prior to sessions, I like to have an idea of my student’s understanding of the topic to establish a baseline, but to also decide what parts of the content need to be focused on. Before we meet I also prepare myself by refreshing my knowledge in more detail to better help the students. After helping my brother and several others with special needs I retain patience and flexibility with students through the learning process. I also understand that students all have their own primary learning processes and I try to best accommodate each style of learning through visuals, hands on activities, breakdowns of complex concepts, and repetition to cement their learning on.
