About Joaquin
I'm deeply passionate about academics. From Math to History to Economics, I have a love for learning and an even greater love for teaching.
I started tutoring in the Spring of '19 and have been loving it ever since. I've tutored students in all levels of Math, Reading, and for Test prep. I hope to continue tutoring students next year when I start at Princeton University (class of '24) and to eventually start my own company. Currently, I tutor over online platforms such as Wyzant, but I hope to resume in-person tutoring real soon. For me, tutoring occupies a special place. I went through the same journey (prepping for the SAT and AP examinations, studying Math, trying to get into College) and now, I want to help others do the same.

I love acting as a guide and helping students through their academic journey. I also love teaching others about the things I'm passionate about.
I started tutoring in the Spring of 2019, after receiving a 1510 on the SAT. Many students in my class wanted to know how I managed to achieve such a high score and a few were even willing to pay me to show them how. From then on, I started tutoring at my school's after school help program, where I established my first client based.
My Tutoring expertise comes from my experiences as a student trying to chart my path to the top. I went through the Test-Prep-and-College-Admissions process very recently, so I have a deep understanding of the methods that are necessary to get ahead and excel. I also have a natural inclination towards math and social sciences and spend hours every day just reading and learning about them.

When I start tutoring a student, I usually begin with a skills assesment. In most cases, this just involves me looking over past coursework and assignment/test grades. If I am tutoring a student in test prep, I'll usually have them take a practice exam, which I'll score and then use to assess areas for growth. Once I've made the proper assesments, I'll usually sit with the student and their parents (where appropriate) and come up with a progression plan.
I've worked with primarily high school students of all levels and abilities. I'm looking to expand my operations towards all grade levels and to subjects such as social studies and history. I have some experience tutoring students with disabilities.
Experience is invaluable. Find someone who's been through the process themselves and has a strong desire to help people through the same journey.

In general, I charge a flat fee of 40$ an hour for all subject areas. I also do packages of ten lessons for 300$.
