About Julia
I am a National Board certified teacher as an Exceptional Needs Specialist. I have a Masters as a Reading Specialist and Learning Behavior Specialist with extensive training in teaching students with dyslexia as an Orton Gillingham Certification. I have experience with a range of student academic, emotional and behavioral needs. I have directed a Therapeutic Intervention Program, academic programs and social emotional programs in a variety of grade levels. I love working with students to face challenges and build skills and confidence along the way!
My entire 13 year career has been as a teacher in special education and general education settings in a varierty of age ranges.

I begin with a conversation with parent to better understand areas of concern and needs. I then come up with assessments or questionarres to help me better idenfity the student needs and areas of growth. I analyze the assessments and create a plan to support the student and their development!
I have worked with a large range of skills of students from students with test prep needs, skill building of foundataional skills, skill enhancement of existing skills, as well as functional life skills. I have worked with students with severe emotional and behavioral needs in a Therapeutic Intervention Setting.
