About Abigail
I graduated from UNC Wilmington in 2017 with a B.A. in English literature and a minor in biology. I'm passionate about education and have experience tutoring a wide range of subjects and class levels. Previously, I worked for New Hanover County Schools as a tutor in their STAE program (an elective for students to increase their study and comprehension skills of school subjects), where I traveled from school to school helping students in all grades (mainly 6-8th grade) with English, math, science, and history. I also worked for UNCW in their campus tutoring department helping students improve their writing and editing skills. I also earned a Master Certified Tutor, Level III certification from CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association). I am passionate about the learning process and believe it is vital to understand each individual's learning style in order to effectively help them comprehend information. My goal is to help students feel confident, empowered, and excited about learning.
