About Nick
I provide personalized math instruction for students in grades 7 - 12. As a tutor, I strive to make mathematical topics relevant and applicable to my students' everyday experiences, and I tailor my instruction to rely on my students' intuition and ability to make connections when learning new concepts.
I have a Bachelor of Science with majors in Mathematics and Statistics, and I am pursuing a Master's in Adolescent Mathematics Education. I have four years of experience in teaching and tutoring mathematics to young adults in college and senior high school settings.

Understanding of new mathematical concepts begins when a student connects them to previously mastered concepts, so I begin by identifying areas of mastery, familiarity, and growth. To do this, I work with the student to identify topics that they have discussed in class and then administer a pre-test containing relevant written questions. After grading the pre-test, I ask the student to walk me through selected answers to get an understanding of how they comprehend and think about the material. From there, we work together to develop a curriculum that leads to the student's desired end state.
