About Austin
I have always had a love for kids. Ever since I can remember, I was always drawn to play with the younger kids at family functions and get togethers with family friends. In 5thgrade I remember doing a project and being asked “What do you want to be when you grow up?” At the time I really had no idea, but I put ‘teacher’ because I loved all of my elementary teachers and I thought it would be cool to hangout and teach kids for a living. As I got older, I just avoided the question because I really had no idea. When it came time to pick a major for college, I had decided math because I really liked that subject, so why not? After a semester of being a math major I realized that’s not was I really wanted to do for the rest of my life, so I REALLY had to answer the question I had been avoiding for the majority of my life. I thought about that project in 5thgrade, and thought why not become a teacher? The job market for teachers is huge now-a-days and I love teaching kids swimming lessons (which i do when I am home during the summers). So, I decided that teaching is what I wanted to do. Come to realize, 5thgrade me knew from the start that I was always going to become a teacher.
I am currently an elementary education teacher candidate at Eastern Illinois University expecting to graduate in December of 2021 with a B.S.Ed.
I also have over 5 years of experience teaching swimming lessons to people of all ages.
