About Amanda
I am a PhD candidate in History and I hold an M.A. in Public History from a local university. My research field is in Native American History but I also teach 20th century history, world history, and U.S.history. I am a highly experienced teaching assistant, a published scholar with excellent references, and I'm happy to provide teaching evaluations on request. I especially enjoy helping students understand the process of essay writing for History in higher education.
I enjoy creating "ah ha".moments, when students grasp a difficult concept or form a new understanding of a historical event. As an instructor, I try to incorporate counter-narratives into my lessons, to encourage students to critically think and form their own assessments.
