About Jose
Music is one of the most rewarding skills to acquire. At the end of all your hard work, you have a beautiful piece of art everyone can enjoy. I have had nothing but wonderful teachers throughout my life, and I would love nothing more than to be that teacher for someone else.
I have been playing guitar since I was 10. I was in the most advanced level orchestra of Tucson Junior Strings playing upright bass for 5 years. I played every instrument in the rhythm section in high school jazz band all four years. I recieved a 5 on the AP Music Thoery exam. I have composed two piecrs that received public performances by members of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. I have been admitted on full scholarship to the San Francisco Conservatory of Music for a Bachelors in Composition.
I have taught paid guitar lessons and thoroughly enjoy teaching people of all skill levels.

When I was in 8th grade, I served as a teacher's aide for the beginner's orchestra and would regularly lead the class. This continued through highschool as my music teacher's saw I was more advanced and I would help them when needed. Friends asking me help turned into people asking me for lessons.
I have played guitar, bass, and drums professionally. I took double-bass lessons and performed in a youth orchestra for 5 years. I have a song released on spotify and more on the way.

Establish a learning goal, diagnose strengths and weaknesses, develop exercises and methods to improve weaknesses.
Mostly beginners, but also those of intermediate skill level.
Teacher can only point you in the right direction, you have to be the one to walk. You're only going to get out what you out in.
My school jazz band played at an event organized by local musicians to get kids in contact with pros. It's a really great event that not only gives kids great experience learning from real world musicians, but also performance experience in front of regular customers.
