About Raleigh
My lessons are an informal approach to learning to play and enjoy golf based on little formal training. I've had a lesson or two here and there. But almost 60 years of playing the game, building my own swing, and turning myself into a 2-handicap at one time by watching and listening to teachers like Hank Haney, Sean Foley, David Leadbetter, Rick Smith, A.J. Bonar, Dave Pelz, and countless others has made me an avid teacher of the game. I have over 200 traditional golf lesson videos in my computer library. I was a Master Club Fitter, certified by Callaway, TaylorMade, PING, Mizuno, Cobra, and Titleist at Golf Galaxy in Brentwood for 9 years and based on that experience and feedback from people I fitted for clubs I believe I have a knack for teaching the golf swing.
I am not a PGA certified professional teacher. But have been certified as a Movement Specialist for Tahatagolf.com, an online golf training program based on ancient martial arts movements involved in swinging swords and bamboo fighting sticks. I have to say that in my 50+ years of golf swing study, Tathata is most unique and effective method I've encountered for understanding and teaching the simple essentials for delivering a golf club to the ball with maximum efficiency.
I don't do this to make money. I do it for the sheer joy of seeing people progress and improve, and enjoying what I'm showing them how to do.
My 8-year experience and successes I've had as a certified master-club-fitter has proven to me that I have something to offer any golfer and instilled in me the confidence to do it.
Years of experience working on my own golf swing, studying the techniques of teachers like Hank Haney, Sean Foley, David Leadbetter, Dave Pelz, and numerous others, with over 150 downloaded instructional videos to reference. However, my methods are different than most, based on a martial arts "striking" training program adapted to golf. Very simple.

Depending on what skill level and experience a student has, I try to incorporate a swing training regimen to my lessons that involve the proper movements necessary to make a good golf swing.
All skill levels.
Don't expect miracles and focus on the fundamentals and give yourself a reasonable expectation and give yourself time to progress.
A customer I fitted for golf clubs approached me recently and said, "I just want to shake your hand because what you taught me has taken 5 to 7 strokes off my game." The person with him, who I assume was a frequent golf/gambling partner said, "And I'm not speaking to you."
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
How much patience and tolerance for frustration do you have?

Perfect! Incredible insight and instruction. He teaches you how to listen to your body’s movements and adjust them. After one lesson my swing feels more aligned and comfortable. I am aiming the shot instead of swinging at it.
Perfect! Very knowledgeable and patient, knows the game but more importantly knows how to teach it.
Perfect! Raleigh is patient, explains things well, and works with your swing, not some "one size fits all" formula. His approach is exactly what I was looking for.
Perfect! I have had two lessons so far and have moved my score from 110 to 90. He has helped me so much in all aspects of my game. You can tell that he really cares about you as a golfer and he is a super nice guy overall. Also, he comes for a great price for all he knows.

Perfect! Raleigh gives you a great foundation for a golf swing that produces consistent contact. He provides a unique experience tailored to the golfer for a competitive price. I am pleased with my results and may even consider more advanced lessons as my swing progresses. Thanks Raleigh!
Perfect! He is very good at figuring out what you are doing wrong in your golf swing and making corrections. The remedies he suggested are going to take some time for me to get them down. At age 70 I just dont learn as fast as I once did.
Perfect! Very helpful and easy to understand. Gaining a good foundation early as you start the game of golf is important and he supplies a strong one. Highly recommend.

Raleigh Squires has a phenomenal training style that has been very effective for my lessons with him. Never showing frustration for repeated mistakes, he quickly identifies issues and presents easy-to-follow methods to correct them. He goes above and beyond to provide follow-up notes and videos after lessons are over, and has been great to communicate with and schedule lessons.
Raleigh is very personable, knowledgeable, has a keen understanding of the fundamentals and works to understand your needs so that he can design training that best best suits the clients need. Would recommend Raleigh to anyone, whether just starting out or someone who has played the game for years.
Very good trainer. Very knowledgeable. I recommend him very highly.
