When meeting a new student, a large part is building a rapport. Meeting with the student and hearing what they are good at, what they wish to improve at is key in the first meeting. Hearing the same from parents is important for developing a musical bond between the child and parent, and parents are more than welcome to sit in on the lessons. Developing a structured plan for improvement, understanding that challenges will change day to day, and developing a repertoire of pieces will definitely spawn a love for music, while ensuring the child is focused and attentive from the comfort of their home.
