About Atiqa

I like learning from my students. I am open to new ideas, and technological advancements. I'm flexible and friendly. Questions fuel my passion, the more you ask the better. Teaching is a tiring process, but it's so much more rewarding at the end of the day. The more you understand, the more you smile after a hectic schedule, the more I'll feel happier with myself.

The learning experience. The personal talks, the different view points. The versatile conversations between a student and teacher. Language barrier is a problem but we are social creatures. I'm here to listen more and talk less. If you are in a difficult situation, feel free to share. Emotional well-being is directly connected to every aspect of your life.

I always wanted to teach. I looked for online ads after graduation and then immediately started teaching.

After I started teaching, our school, Beaconhouse used to send teachers to several annual workshops. Some were optional, others were mandatory. We were taught conversational, and writing skills. Grammar, sentence construction, general information, vocabulary and many more aspects were taught and tested during those workshops.

It's an ever-changing process. First are the introductions. Then you ask about the subject-related, and/or general problems. You listen to them first and then give feedback. Teaching starts after basic educational background check. You can not blindly teach a child without first asking them about their troubles/problems. A good tutor listens more, and talks less.

Some were difficult in a sense that they had single parents. Some were bullied due to their innocence. Some were extremely intelligent and some were hard to convince. When I started teaching I was a very strict, just-live-by-the-rules person. However, after teaching for a few months, I realized it wasn't good for the kids. So, I entirely changed my approach. The hugs also helped.

Ask questions. Talk to your teacher/tutor. Find someone who understands your mental capabilities. Teachers can make or break you. Those few hours you spend with them can drastically change your life for better or worse.

I recently started teaching English phonics and nursery rhymes to my 4-month-old son. I know, he's little but it's better if you start early.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
That's it. If you want to learn something, don't be afraid to ask. A good tutor will never ignore your query.

If you need something, anything, politely without pressure try asking the less complicated questions first. Then start with the complicated one. Remember teachers also undergo a lot of stress.

Try asking: Can you simplify Newton's second law through examples, I am still confused? Please and thank you.
