About Eddie

I have been tutoring the language arts for a number of years now and I'm sure I can help with your students' essays, grammar, and comprehension. I am a high school student who attends The Lawrenceville School in Princeton, NJ, and am home for the term. I have won numerous school essay and poetry writing competitions, as well as had great grades in the language arts for years (3.9 unweighted GPA).

I wanted to help my friends out with studying, and in freshman year, I branched out to tutoring, and I've loved it ever since.

I am a sophomore at The Lawrenceville School, where I am a peer tutor; I've been tutoring for years.

About the lesson

Usually, an interview to see what they're all about, how they're feeling about the subject, and to get a grasp on what they need help with. Then, I will often go right into what they're having trouble with.

I work with students from 2nd to 9th grade! I usually work through my school and have tons of experience with special needs students, students with trouble pacing with the class, and even students who want that extra boost!

Look for a tutor who won't look down on you. Many tutors are condescending and easily get frustrated. I think that as a young person coming from my background, I'm quick to empathize and understand my students' difficulties.

I had a student (3rd grade) who was almost failing her English class, but with a few lessons and some hard work, she was swiftly back on her feet, excited to learn!

Be open! Maybe ask about specific assignments or grades they had in the past, things to really get the ball rolling!
