First off i like to see and test at what level they speak the language. I first try to hold a conversation with them. If they cant then i start giving them pharses. If they cant do that i start giving them words. Ex my last student i would repeat words until they pronounce it correctly, and dont move from there until i feel they understand it what it means and how it is used.
