About Timothy

Hello, my name is Timothy and I'm thrilled to say that this will be my first time ever to work online helping students with their school work assignments in Spanish and helping them to achieve their goals. First of all, when I moved to California from Memphis, Tennessee many years ago, I was fascinated by many people in various cultures, lifestyles and languages that I was exposed to, especially Spanish! I discovered that the Spanish language is spoken by millions of people in Latin America and in Europe, as well! For that reason, it struck me like lightening in wanting to learn Spanish to communicate, and making friends to different native speakers in the language, also! With such enthusiasm, I rushed to my local book store and purchase lessons in Spanish and studied like crazy by myself both day and night, continuously!

Shortly thereafter, within a few months time, I begin to comprehend how to read, to write and to speak the language pretty well! Many of my friends and acquaintances who are native Spanish speakers were impressed how well I could hold a conversation with them and understand a great deal of words! Not to mention, in 1995 I attended Crafton Hills College in Yucaipa, California, where I have earned an Associate's of Arts Degree in Foreign Language Studies, Concentration: Spanish/ French. Moreover, in 2001, I attended University of Redlands and successfully received a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts Studies, Concentration: Psychology/Counseling.

Furthermore, during my college years, off and on, I offered my free time as a Spanish tutor and as a French tutor to my fellow classmates who were struggling with their homework assignments in both of these fields of studies. Generally, I would help them in pronouncing their words correctly, writing and forming sentences correctly, along with creating basic conversations and word memory exercises. As a result, the students that I tutored did very well and earned good grades in their class work! Lastly, the total years that I tutored freely with classmates in both colleges, were four years.

In closing, learning a second language such as Spanish or more can be quite beneficial in understanding a world of people in various cultures who speak it, it opens doors to many prospective opportunities as in obtaining college degrees and helping others to achieve their goals in the language that they're learning.

Oftentimes in the workplace, it's a great pleasure for me to help supervisors who only speak English, to break down the language barrier, by translating over the telephone; dealing with special need clients' parents who are native Spanish speakers, or with transportation drivers who hardly speak any English but mostly Spanish and translating information about what time they're coming to pick up or drop off clients to our behavior day program.

In addition, I have many Spanish speaking friends in social media, such as Facebook, Messenger and WhatsApp from various places in South America who I communicate with on a daily basis. Quite often, a few of them who are parents, who are happy to seek my assistance in helping their kids with their English homework assignments; it's a privilege and a delight of being bilingual, because I've inspired one young man who wishes to become fluent in French and to becoming a teacher in his own country! Indeed, I do have good faith of being a wonderful online Spanish tutor with such skills in reading, writing, speaking and translating the language very well, along with my accomplishments of receiving both an Associate's of Arts Degree in Foreign Language Studies and a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts.
