About Sumaya

My service as an English tutor is superb given my impressive writing ability and the education I received as a student of literature at the university level. Many of my pupils have gone on to score above 500 on the reading and writing portion of the PSAT. I have a naturally kind and considerate nature and I am adept at working with pupils of all ages and levels.

I enjoy everything about what I do. A student's needs and comfort level is a first priority for me. I love easing the struggles of frustrating writing and ESL students because helping others is a second nature to me.

I started teaching during my senior year in high school as a volunteer one-on-one specialist at my local elementary school.

I have a bachelors of arts degree from the University of California, Riverside and an associate's of arts degree from Citrus College. I have five years of expereince working with students from preschool to eight grade. I have experience teaching both Math and English and I have a 120 Hours TEFL certificate.

About the lesson

I begin by establishing a level of mutual repect between myself and the corresponding party, that being the student and possibly their parent(s) depending on their age.

I have worked with a wide rage of students from kindergardners to college students.

My standard rate is $20 an hour regardless of age, grade or level. Also, there is a $10 last-minute cancellation fee.
